Centre for Caring, Empowerment and Peace Initiatives (CCEPI)

At the Centre for Caring, Empowerment and Peace Initiatives (CCEPI) in northern Nigeria, Dr. Rebecca Dali (founder of CCEPI and recipient of the Humanitarian Award from the Sergio Vieira de Mello Foundation at the United Nations), staff, and volunteers are helping transform the lives of many thousands of victim-survivors of religious and ethnic violence and atrocities. The CCEPI team brings hope to widows, orphans, displaced persons, at-risk youth, and other conflict victims by using a comprehensive approach to rebuilding lives—promoting wellbeing, providing quality services, care, and support, and through strengthening the capacity of individuals, families, communities and government to care and support these vulnerable people. The team’s impact is multiplied by the assistance and local initiatives of some 80 volunteers, many of whom are former victims themselves and that receive less than $20/month per person to cover their costs. Donations raised here will be distributed equally among these local volunteers to support them in their roles as changemakers—leading community-wide initiatives to bring hope, healing, and sustainable livelihoods.

Fundraising Goal: $3,200 (doubling the monthly stipend costs for 40 volunteer changemakers for a year)
